The Global Win Conference in Prague
The winners are: Elin Hurvenes, who is a Norwegian entrepreneur who set up the company Professional Boards Forum in 2003 in response to the Norwegian Government's introduction of a controversial quota law to bring 40% women onto company boards. Marguerite Barankitse, a Burundian humanitarian. She began providing food and shelter to 25 children on October 25, 1993, one of the worst days of the Burundi Civil War. With the help of European and Burundian friends she organized a help network that managed to provide care for a growing number of children. In May 1994 the Roman Catholic Bishop of Ruyigi, Bishop Joseph Nduhirubusa agreed to transform a former school into a children's shelter called 'Maison Shalom'. In 2004 an estimated 20,000 children had benefited from her help, either directly or indirectly. Umran Beba a SVP and chief HR officer of PepsiCo AMEA. In addition to her current responsibilities, she is also serving temporarily as acting sector head for PepsiCo AMEA. Beba is a great supporter of all of PepsiCo's Performance with Purpose goals. During her time as President of PepsiCo Asia-Pacific, the region was home to WaterHope, a collaborative social enterprise that aims to bring clean drinking water to one million Filipinos by 2015. Under her leadership, the Region also launched sustainable product initiatives in Australia, Thailand and the Philippines. Umran is also a dedicated advocate of diversity and inclusion
At the event in Prague over 800 people have met from 70 countries to participate in the Women's International Networking Conference. During 3 days managers and entrepreneurs alike, focuses on bringing women worldwide 'up to the next level' in their careers and in their lives.
